Client Testimonials
hudson cuneo2023-08-04Brian and Diane are both extremely knowledgable trainers who have been able to help immensely with my very stubborn torn plantar fascia. In just a few months I've been able to get back to most of my regular activities after three years of pretty intense suffering. I've been through 4 personal trainers, 4 podiatrists, 3 CMT's, 3 physical therapists, 2 chiropractors, shockwave therapy, dry needling, etc and so far Better Way Fitness has been the only one out of all of them to make a huge difference in my quality of life. Thank you so much Brian and Diane, you both are life savers. 1 trillion stars is more fitting than 5!Merilee Giovannini2023-07-05I am very happy with the Better Way Fitness, I have increased by strength and that was my goal, I am over 60 and had lost muscle and although I have worked out at the gyms, this is so much more personnel. I feel like Brian and Diane take a personnel interest in their clients. The facility is clean, bright, and always pleasant. BTW when traveling I can easily lift my carry on into the over head storage of the plane! Merilee G.Steve G.2023-05-17I first learned about Better Way Fitness from a story in my local monthly city magazine. I was intrigued because I was looking for something that would fit my lifestyle and schedule, but a normal gym membership was not appealing to me. I found a home at Better Way Fitness. The certified personal trainers here, Brian and Diane, are professional, friendly, and caring people. They have created a clean, intimate setting and use the latest in training equipment and techniques. Instead of going it alone, I get personal training tailored specifically for me. I’m guided through every exercise with an explanation of purpose and expectations. I get a great workout in each private thirty minute session, plus they electronically track and record my progress. I am thrilled with the transformation I’m seeing in my body and happy I’m well on my way to achieving my fitness goals. If you are looking to strengthen your muscles and core, improve your balance, and bolster your overall health without spending hours in noisy, overcrowded, intimidating gyms, then I highly recommend a free introductory session at Better Way Fitness. You won’t regret it.L A2023-04-07I cannot say enough good things about this place. It is extremely affordable for the time and effort the trainers put into your workouts. I look forward to going every week, and have already seen results in a month. If you’re looking to get in shape in the least amount of time, check this place out! You won’t be sorry.Carla N.2023-01-25I am so glad a friend referred me to Better Way Fitness. Slow motion strength training is exactly what I needed. The workouts are personalized and are designed around the variety of orthopedic issues I experience. One of the benefits for me has been being able to take stairs easier!Palak Shah2023-01-20Brian and Diane are both great to work with, great attitude and professional. They offer a calm, pressure free environment to exercise. I look forward to my workout sessions and am excited to gain strength as I continue at Betterway.Peggy Massie2022-10-28I'm 60 years old, and had a hip replacement a few years ago, and since then, my balance on my replacement (left) side was poor. My husband started BETTER WAY first and I was skeptical that it would be much different than any other program. But Mark really felt an immediate difference and they offered me 3 FREE SESSIONS to check it out............... and I LOVE it!! I have been going to A Better Way for a few months now and they checked my balance yesterday and I was amazed at what my left leg/hip balance could do and how much its improved. I have cuts now (muscle definition) on my arms, biceps and upper back that I haven't had since college!! I have had several people comment on my definition, and I'm 60!!! I now wear tank tops and shorts a lot. I had stopped wearing shorts because I didn't like my cellulite or "jiggly" skin. I love feeling strong and not "old and fragile"! I can wear all my old favorite outfits that I didn't fit into before, and I feel GOOD about my body image, not insecure or hiding parts I'm ashamed of! And the workout is only 20 minutes 2 times a week, and it isn't exhausting. I've had personal training before, and THIS is way different! * I'm not WASTING MY TIME doing massive repetitions on machines that really wouldn't get me the result I wanted * Each machine is so muscle specific, that I can literally SEE MY BODY CHANGING * The trainer is right next to me and corrects my posture/positioning immediately so I won't get injured. This is very important to me. * They are always asking if I'm having any pain/sensitivity since the last workout, and they change things up to give those areas a rest * It's not that hard! I give it my all on each machine, with time in between to recoup. They have us drinking lots of water in between as well. * It's the most TIME EFFICIENT WORKOUT, takes such a small amount of time, and has given me more results than all the HOURS I USED TO SPEND IN THE GYM! TAKE THE 3 FREE WORKOUTS AND TRY IT FOR YOURSELFkrunal shah2022-09-30I really like the workouts. The work outs are short, full body, and safe.Louise Schlosser2022-09-01I have been to personal trainers all over Orange County but have never found a team that was more caring that at Betterway Fitness!! I appreciate their attention to what your individual body can and cannot do, so as not to push you so hard that it causes more issues to your body. As a massage therapist locally in Orange, I am so happy to have found you for myself and my clients who are looking for quality trainers!!

Everyone hates this answer: it depends.
If you did nothing else beyond working out with us for 30 mins, 2x per week, we are confident that you will gain muscle strength and improve your balance and flexibility. It is also likely that slow motion strength training will help you better manage cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, etc.
However, if your goal is to see a significant improvement in body fat reduction, overall weight management, cholesterol reduction, etc, you will also need to have a plan for improving and managing your diet and nutrition as well. Our studio can help with this! Your personal trainer can provide general nutrition coaching, and if necessary, refer you to a nutritionist or dietician for a personalized diet plan.

When you workout with your trainer for 30 minutes, these should be the most challenging 30 minutes of your day!
Slow motion strength training is personalized for you — we work with you to find an ideal level of weight (resistance) that challenges you and pushes you to fully fatigue your muscles.
After your workout, your body will need a sufficient amount of recovery time before the next workout (we recommend 2 days of rest from strength training).
What happens during that recovery time? The body is preparing its muscles to more efficiently handle the resistance (weight) that it previously encountered.
Working out too soon or too often can lead to overtraining, limited health benefits, and possibly an injury. For these reasons, we recommend no more than 2 strength training sessions per week.
-
A key benefit of strength training is getting your body into shape so that you can enjoy all of the other things that you like to do. Our members regularly tell us that the best part of working out is having an easier time doing fun activities later on: hiking, skiing, tennis, gardening, playing with kids or grandkids, home improvement projects, etc, … all become easier to do with fewer aches and pains later on!
We love to know that you’re getting out there and having fun; however, we recommend that you find a non-weight training alternative. For example, go for a walk, bike ride, or something fun that helps you get your heart rate into the fat burning or cardio training zones.
-
In most cases, yes. We work with several clients who have pre-existing medical conditions or a recent injury. Our trainers are able to tailor your workouts to accommodate many limitations and help you get a great workout. If you have an injury or other condition, we strongly recommend that you have a discussion with your physician to get clearance before starting a new workout program.
-
When you first visit the studio for an Intro Workout, your trainer will give a brief tour and overview of the equipment, demonstrate the slow motion training method, and then they will take you through an entire workout (normally 30 mins).
During your first workout, your trainer will adjust seat settings, finding an ideal level of weight that is right for you, and walk you through proper form and breathing for each exercise.
After the initial workout, your trainer will be ready to take you through a full workout in 30 minutes.

We have a 12-hour cancelation policy for personal training appointments; clients unable to attend their appointments without providing notice are charged for the cost of the missed session.
Life happens, and we understand that there are times when you can’t make it to an appointment. Your trainer will do their best to accommodate a last-minute schedule change by moving your appointment to a later time on the same day if a time slot is available.
